Want to learn more about how Adobe Illustrator works? Check out my Illustrator Explainer Series - a comprehensive collection of over 100 videos where I go over every tool, feature and function and explain what it is, how it works, and why it's useful. If you’ve followed the steps correctly, your text should’ve followed the direction of the path change and no longer be upside down. So draw your circle, type your text, make a rubberband-selection and go to 'Text -> Put On Path'. So if i draw the circle first and then the text or the other way round, i can still put it on the path. It will not work on text you’ve already created. you can put text on a circle without converting the circle into a path. Please note that you’ll have to flow the text along path after you’ve reversed the direction of the path. Now go ahead and see if your text along path is upside down still. It’ll work the same whether it’s set to vertically or horizontally. With the Flip tool selected, click on the path to reverse its direction. First find the path to your USB connected printer: - open terminal and use the following command ls /dev/tty. In the tool settings area, look for “ Transform:” and set it to Paths (the icon furthest to the right.) You can now already plot to the vinyl cutter if you like: Extensions > Export > Plot. Grab the Flip tool by clicking on the icon associated with it in the toolbox or by pressing Shift + F on your keyboard.
